The Know executive management team represents decades of experience in the wholesale and retail markets -- designing, manufacturing, marketing and selling apparel.

Each member brings a distinct set of skills and experiences to the table that range from product development to import know-how to stellar management. Together, they share an unfaltering commitment to delivering fashion with a conscience. Every aspect of the business has the stamp of quality, consistency and confidence that comes from experienced leadership.

Cynthia Cloud
    Founder and President
Cynthia Cloud brings a strong track record as a successful entrepreneur and 14-year veteran of the apparel industry to her role as president at Know, LLC. 

Cloud entered the industry in 1991, working for a start-up apparel company that marketed and sold women's embellished knit tops, nationally, to major department stores and specialty stores. She was involved in all aspects of the business, including, but not limited to: product development, production, distribution, business systems, and business strategy.

In 1994, Cloud joined forces with a partner and formally started her first apparel company. The business designed and manufactured women's and men's embellished knit tops and sold to major department stores and specialty stores nationwide. Under Cloud's leadership, the company grew from a startup into a multi-million dollar corporation.

Throughout this growth period, Cloud was responsible for, and gained experience in, every facet of the business to include marketing, sales, product development, import and domestic production, quality assurance, human resources, business systems and overall business strategy and execution. She profitably exited the company in 2004 after 10 years of ownership.

Steve Thompson
    Vice President, Finance and Sourcing
Steve Thompson brings 12 years experience in business development, and six years experience in the apparel industry, to his role as vice president of finance and sourcing at Know, LLC.

Thompson served as the vice president of finance for a multi-million dollar business focused on embellished knits, where he gained extensive import experience. He was charged with managing the accounting department and overseeing all related functions, including: financial statements, payroll, accounts payable, inventory and employee benefits.

Working closely with the company's bankers, lawyers, insurance agents, and outside accountants; Thompson also played a key role in developing an import program. His areas of focus included: obtaining lines of credit with the bank; negotiating pricing with import vendors; approving line of credit payments to import vendors; tracking and monitoring overseas shipments, and negotiating and problem solving with import vendors.

In his earlier experiences, Thompson was a partner in a public accounting firm, where he worked with small businesses and provided general accounting services such as financial statement preparation and tax services. He helped clients develop and grow their businesses by assisting them with processes and procedures, goal setting, forecasting, and mentoring on many levels.

Marcia Cumberledge
    Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Marcia Cumberledge brings over 24 years experience in the apparel industry to her role as vice president and sales and marketing at Know, LLC.

Prior to Know, Cumberledge was the vice president of sales, marketing and product development for six years at a multi-million dollar business focused on embellished knits. In this capacity, she worked closely with the sales staff and large retailers, and was involved with financial planning and product development. In an effort to help the company remain competitive in the mid-tier channel of retail, she initiated Asian sourcing and developed an internal import staff to handle all details from design to final shipments. Cumberledge opened and staffed the Asia office.

During her earlier experiences, Cumberledge garnered broad and deep expertise through a variety of posts. She was a buyer for a national department store chain for 10 years, and a divisional merchandise manager for four years. During this time, she traveled extensively throughout Asia and developed private label knits, sweaters and related separates.

Cumberledge also served as the director of retail sales for a national accessory company for five years, where she focused heavily on product development and on building relationships with major department store chains.
